You will see under the SOC column an Orange circle with an exclamation point inside of it. This signifies that there is still a considerable amount of competition for this phrase, but you could rank for it in the search engines with a moderate amount of work. 

Now look at "portable swimming pools". You will see a Green circle with a checkmark inside. This is the sign of a micro niche that is just right for exploiting. The lower the SOC, the more likely it is that you can obtain a top Google ranking for your website using the keyword phrase as your URL. The column just to the left of SOC is the MOB, or Measure of Backlinks. This tells us how many backlinks, or in-bound links from other web pages are pointing to this page. By creating backlinks to your web pages, you are able to give your page more "value" in the eyes of Google. But it's not just the number of backlinks that matters, it is also the weight that each backlink carries with it. Backlinks from high-value, Web 2.0 sites such as Ezine Articles, Squidoo, and Hubpages bring more value to your site than backlinks from sites with little web traffic or popularity.

Let's go across the entire row now for "portable swimming pools" and see what Micro Niche Finder tells us about the keyword phrase and determine if it is a good candidate to build a micro web for and monetize it.

Under the Local Search Count column we see that is is getting an average monthly search volume of 1600 searches. The higher this number, the more free traffic we can expect to receive from the search engines. The next column tells us how much an advertiser is willing to pay for a Pay Per Click ad on Google AdWords. The next column shows OCI, or Online Commercial Intent of the buyer that is searching this term. The higher this number, the more likely it is that the searcher is looking to make a purchase.

We see in the next to last column that there are only 5 inbound links to the top web pages in the Google Search, and the last column gives us the Green indicator that this is an excellent opportunity to pursue.
